Comcast came and got the TV and internet working right around noon (they were scheduled noon to three).
It just finished raining really hard, but it looks like more is on it's way. On the positive side it does look like it'll be cleared off by morning. On another positive note, it seems that the basement is not leaking as my cousin was sure of. The kids wanted to sleep at the new place tonight, so that's what we're doing. Good thing we have air mattresses.
OK. Time for me to hit the sack and get some sleep.
extrastout pointed me at this article earlier tonight. It's pretty much what I've been saying has to happen in Detroit if the city has any hopes of ever surviving and providing essential services to the residents. The basic gist is that you need to move everyone closer together in order to create neighborhoods that are actually viable. It's hard for a city to provide things like efficient trash collection, water and sewerage, police, fire, etc when the density is one home every 10.- 08:59 is going to power through this gray day. #
